SHS Environmental Law Practice Group Hosts RI Renewable Energy Update

On May 3, 2017, SHS’s Environmental Law Practice Group hosted over 40 private and public sector renewable energy professionals to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly of developing renewable energy projects in RI as part of the Environmental Business Council’s program series. The program included presentations by Deepwater Wind, Broadrock Renewables, Blue Sphere, Kearsarge Energy, LP and the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank. Christian Capizzo, Chair of SHS’s Environmental Practice Group and Edward Summerly, Principal/Sr. VP at GZA moderated a lively discussion with the renewable energy professionals regarding regulatory and permitting issues, funding incentives and interconnection challenges related to renewable energy projects involving solar, wind, landfill gas to energy and anaerobic digestion.
