From the routine purchase or sale of residential real estate to the complex transfer, leasing, financing, or development of residential, commercial or industrial properties, our Real Estate and Conveyancing Practice Group provides quality service in a cost-effective manner.

The attorneys and paralegals in our Real Estate and Conveyancing Practice Group provide comprehensive legal services to buyers, sellers, developers and residential lenders throughout all phases of real estate transactions throughout the New England states and New York.  This group has experience with structuring complex and multi-party purchase and sale transactions, tax-deferred like-kind exchanges, leasing, sale/leaseback, and other arrangements regarding residential, commercial, and industrial real estate.

In addition to the above, a significant portion of this group’s practice is devoted to structuring, negotiating, and documenting financing in various types of transactions, including commercial lending, real estate lending, and asset-based financing.  The attorneys in our Real Estate and Conveyancing Practice Group provide ongoing advice and assistance to our institutional lenders to ensure compliance with consumer laws and regulations in their particular states.

All matters handled by this group are staffed with experienced attorneys and paralegals that understand and appreciate the needs of our clients, either as the buyer, seller, or the lender, as well as the time constraints imposed by the nature of these transactions and the secondary lending market.  This knowledge, coupled with a thorough understanding of real estate law, enables our Real Estate and Conveyancing Practice Group to serve clients efficiently and professionally from the preparation and negotiation of documents to pre-closing and through the post-closing stages of a transaction.

Our Real Estate and Conveyancing Practice Group is committed to providing clients with the best in service and convenience.  Our staff has learned through its combined years of experience that a cooperative attitude and a willingness to make adjustments to meet the needs of clients are essential to effectuating a timely and successful closing.  Through the use of the latest computer software and technology, we are ready and able to conduct closings, not only in our conveniently located offices in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York, but also at branch offices of the lender, offices of land evidence records, or at the business or home of the customer when necessary.  In Massachusetts, we often conduct closings at the Registries where documents can be recorded immediately.  Closings can be scheduled at other than normal business hours or normal business days, if the needs of the lender or its customer so require.

Many of the attorneys in this group are approved agents and/or attorneys for major title insurance companies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, giving this group the ability to satisfy the title insurance requirements of both lenders and purchasers in the jurisdictions in which the group practices.
