With over 20 years of experience in commercial, business and complex civil litigation, Mr. Souza focuses his practice in such areas as contract disputes, creditors' rights matters, construction disputes, business valuation proceedings, corporate dissolutions, lender liability actions, receiverships and insolvencies, non-competition agreements, professional negligence claims, tax appeals and intellectual property matters. Mr. Souza has extensive experience representing financial institutions, principals, executives, corporations, shareholders and professionals throughout Southern New England. Mr. Souza is a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Associations and was admitted to practice law in all state courts in Rhode Island in 1989 and Massachusetts in 1988. He is also admitted to practice in the federal courts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as in the First Circuit Court of Appeals. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 1988 and earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in Classics from Amherst College in 1985. He is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association Superior Court Bench-Bar Committee, an Officer and Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts and a Director of the Boston College Law School Alumni Association of Rhode Island.
