Mr. Halperin is one of the firm's founding partners and the Chair of the firm’s business litigation department. Admitted to practice law in 1981, Mr. Halperin focuses his practice on business litigation, including contract disputes, construction litigation, shareholder disputes, closely held business disputes, creditors’ rights, and receiverships. Additionally, Mr. Halperin has extensive experience representing clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including both mediations and arbitrations. Mr. Halperin also serves as a mediator, having fulfilled the requirements for mediation training under Rule 8 of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Rules. Mr. Halperin is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, in the state court in New York, and in the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Halperin earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1981, and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Rochester in 1978. Mr. Halperin is a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Associations, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA), and the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA). Mr. Halperin is also a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association's Debtors' and Creditors' Rights.
